Dedication. All church workers must be born-again, filled and led by the Holy Spirit as they conduct and carry out their duties in and outside of God’s house. They are expected to perform missionary and ambassador work for Christ as well as serve as shepherds and servants to others, and exhibit discipleship. They must always mimic Christ-like behavior in all their actions. Church workers must regularly pay tithes and offerings and maintain a good family life as directed in Biblical scripture. All church workers are expected to attend “workers and leaders” meetings on a weekly basis.
Commitment. All church workers must be consistent and committed to living a Christian lifestyle, promote the vision of VLBC and remain loyal to its leadership. Church workers must be dependable and accountable people with the ability to lead and direct activities of others. They must be able to work well with fellow church members and are expected to be in good standing with the Pastors, church members and the general public. They must be sensitive and respond to other people’s needs appropriately. They must maintain total humility and faithfulness to Jesus, Pastoral Staff and church members. They must actively plan and participate in church programs and activities.
Accountability. All church workers must be held accountable for their actions. They must not be bitter, disloyal, cause harm, teach false doctrine, backbite, cause or spread rumors, live carnally, and betray or contribute to betrayal of its leadership and the VLBC ministry. Church workers must work diligently to perform what God has called them to do and perform all ministry assignments to the best of their abilities. They must be responsible, trustworthy, dependable, teachable, obedient, and always open to correction.
Leadership. All church workers must have leadership abilities as well as exercise discipleship and work toward developing a life of service for Jesus. They must: 1) know the God we serve; 2) understand VLBC’s mission, vision, purpose, and statement of faith and beliefs; 3) be empowered to serve; 4) be able to manage conflict and overcome disunity with others; and 5) actively encourage one another as they serve in VLCBC’s ministry. Church workers must exercise wisdom and understanding and be able to motivate others toward spiritual development. They must not be easily provoked and must demonstrate the fruits of the spirit as found in Galatians 5:22 (e.g., love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, kindness, faith, meekness, temperance
